Mushy September 9, 2010 Carl Ferry I rocked a Powershot SD450 for years. It was a great reliable and durable camera until after years of use the shutter decided not to fully open. I sold a lot of Powershots for Cannon based on the quality of the pictures that I took and shared with people. I opted for the SD450 as a replacement. The 3500 is a beautiful looking camera but it takes MUSHY pictures. The pictures just aren't sharp/crisp. The image quality on my old SD450 was far superior. The images look great on the touch screen but when you download them they blur.
Canon power shot 14mg with 5 optical zoom September 6, 2010 peace I have always used Kodak products and will continue with my Kodak 14 mg/5 optical zoom, but I believe that Canon has better clarity and colored pictures. The night feature of the Canon is superior to any camera that I have ever used.
When I travel, I will take both my Kodak and Canon cameras. The Kodak has excellent share capabilities and it is easy to manage my pictures on line. I like the rechargeable feature of the batteries on both cameras. The 5 optical zoom and motion features are outstanding on both cameras when shooting from the window of a bus or airplane. I purchased both cameras from Amazon and would suggest either camera.
Major disappointment August 29, 2010 Kas I've wanted to replace my old Sony Digital camera for a while now, after thorough research and reading tons of both professional and consumer reviews I decided to buy this camera, I wanted a no brainer point and shoot camera for me and my wife to use with our kids.
What a disappointment, photos are mostly out of focus, pale and faded colors, especially indoors and pictures in low light conditions.
The HD video is acceptable, But I wanted a solid pictures and thought that I could not go wrong with the famous Canon Elph series.
To make things worse, I did not start using the camera until after the 30 days return policy have passed, so I am stuck with it unless I can sell it somehow.
I still do not understand the majority of the reviews that are mostly positive and talk about good picture quality.
It is useless for me to talk about the other sophisticated features of this camera as long as the very basic function of taking good pictures is not met.
Lots of features in a small package! August 23, 2010 Rodney Denton (Thomasville, NC United States) We were replacing a canon camera that had gotten dropped in the tub by our 1 year old. (He is so quick). The touch screen takes a little getting used to, but the pictures and video are the high quality that we have come to expect from canon!
It suits my need for new, interesting gadgets to play with and learn about and my wife's more practical need for a small camera that can be slipped in a pocket, bag or purse and have on hand when needed.
Want to love this camera August 19, 2010 CC (CA) I still want to love this camera. Touch screen is great, video capability is good, size is nice and small. However I tend to agree with some of the other posts that the pictures are somewhat grainy / not sharp (of course especially for indoor shots).
I used to have an old Canon G9 which took great photos, but wanted something more compact and this camera was the perfect size. Will consider the Canon S90 now since although no video capability, everyone seems to rave about it's photo quality. I just want a point and shoot camera that takes incredible photos.
